Is your company swimming against the tide with AI?

Let me explain:

During the Dot-Com era, a lot of companies started building custom software alongside their main business. They'd become software development companies as a result, and needed to adopt software dev best practices in order to make the most of this new capability. (Many of them learned this the hard way.)

The same goes for ML/AI today: when a company starts building custom models, or tapping into LLMs, it becomes an AI company. Instead of adopting best AI practices, however, many of these companies swim against the tide. And then they wonder why their AI efforts don't go as well as they'd planned.
