Microsoft "Copilot is for entertainment purposes only." That's a hell of a line to include in a product's Terms of Service (TOS), but it's there as of today 2026/03/31. I checked it myself.

This is from the TOS for Copilot's individual/personal edition. I'm not sure what additional guarantees are provided in the corporate edition.

Whatever the case, it's required reading for anyone using any genAI system, Microsoft's or otherwise. Doubly so for the execs pushing a company-wide genAI mandate.

Every genAI system will produce errors. If the situation matters and you're not in a position to check the outputs, you probably don't want to use AI.
