January 2025: In my newsletter, I noted that genAI's key friction stems from sellers living in the future and buyers living in the present.
November 2025: Investors make it clear that they aren't happy with genAI's distant promises.

You might ask why investors went for genAI in the first place, what with all the hot air? \
Simple:
Investing is all about the future state. You make your money by being right about What It Is Now becoming What It Might Be Later. The hype wave initially made genAI look like a good bet. It's delivered far too little and has become an overpriced lottery ticket.
What does this mean for you, the company trying to use genAI?
While genAI-the-hype-wave has been an empty promise, genAI-the-technology is fine.
It has its ups and downs (like any other tech) but works well when applied to the right scenarios.
Do your homework, find the meaningful use cases, and you'll be in a good spot.
Eat your peas
You can't put AI in everything. Can you?
